Jump does one thing extremely well: it records or transcribes your client meetings, drafts follow-up notes, and syncs them to more than 30 CRMs (Redtail, Wealthbox, Salesforce, and others) automatically. It's purpose-built for the advisor workflow, it carries SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA credentials, and 27,000 advisors already use it, which matters when you're trying to get it through compliance review. For automating post-meeting admin, it's a strong, proven choice, and Advisor Prep Hero doesn't try to take that job away from it.
Jump is a cloud SaaS tool with a contractual promise not to train on your data. Your meeting recordings and notes leave your machine, hit Jump's servers, and get processed there. That's a reasonable privacy posture for many firms, but it means Jump is a service provider under Reg S-P, and your compliance team needs to document and monitor it.
Advisor Prep Hero works differently. Your files stay as Markdown on your own machine. With a local model, your prompts go from your computer straight to the model, and nothing touches any external server. There's no AI vendor to vet because there is no vendor in the data path. For the drafting, research memos, IPS letters, and case notes that are your most sensitive work, that's the posture Advisor Prep Hero is built for.
Advisor Prep Hero also ships 7 advisor-specific workflow templates: IPS drafts, client intake and suitability analysis, meeting summary frameworks, discovery questionnaires, and more. These cover the written work that happens around meetings, not the meeting recording itself.

The SEC's Reg S-P amendments tightened service-provider oversight requirements, and the compliance deadline for smaller RIAs passed in June 2026. Every AI tool that receives client data is now a service provider you must document and monitor. Jump, with its cloud architecture, sits in that category.
With Advisor Prep Hero running a local model, there's no AI service provider in the data path at all. Your files live on your machine. Your model runs on your machine. If your CCO's priority is shrinking the vendor surface, Advisor Prep Hero removes this category of vendor entirely. That's a different value proposition than Jump, not a better meeting-notes tool, but a complementary workspace that keeps your most sensitive written work off any external server.
This is informational, not compliance or legal advice. Verify the Reg S-P requirements and how they apply to your firm with your own compliance counsel. For more on the SEC's Reg S-P amendments, see the Federal Register rule text.
Many advisors use both. Jump for meeting automation; Advisor Prep Hero for the private drafting and analysis that happens the rest of the time.
